And the journey begins! After a wonderful send off at The Athletic Club on Wonderland Rd. S. we boarded the Badder Bus that was generously donated to get us from London to Toronto!! Thank you Badder Bus Lines!! A few short hours later and we arrived at Pearson International Airport. Our driver Sam was excellent....but we already knew that....he is an important part of the Rowbust family, as all of our husbands, partners and families are!
Getting checked in, baggage dropped and through security was relatively painless with no major hang ups. So, now the waiting begins. A nice dinner in the airport restaurant or a quick bit at Timmies makes the wait easier. Any length of time spent together is full of laughter and stories and excited chatter and the time passes quickly.
Looking around it's not hard to tell that we're a "team of some kind". Everyone is proudly wearing our "Rowbust" branded travel gear and carrying a team or Athletic Club bag. Every few minutes you'll hear a team member explaining who we are, what we do and where we are going. The response each time is a happy surprise and well wishes for a gold medal win.
We board the plane at 10:40pm and take off shortly after 11:00pm for a 7 hour flight arriving at Heathrow airport at 11:00am local time. From there a bus ride to our hotel The Rag (quite posh from what we've been told) where we will stay for 3 nights.
After this post please go to the "more..." option at the top right of the page and select the London to London Connection for more about this part of our trip.
Signing off for now...more to follow...much more!
